Noe Valley Book Group
Come join a warm and lively book group for a discussion of popular books. Each month we choose the book for the next month. Next month it will be “Dinner With Buddha” by Roland Merullo, a continuation of the witty and engaging series that we started this month. There is no need to read the previous books in the series. Book group will meet in the library on the 3rd floor.

Noe Valley Ministry Celebration of Black History Month ~ We've Come this Far by Faith: Songs from the Black American Experience
A lecture and performance by Terence Elliott, EdD. Dr. Elliott and the ensemble Nymani Music will take us on a journey through the history of the African-American experience in music: a vital American story.
Mardi Gras Sunday
A Noe Valley tradition to kick off the season of Lent, The Barrelhouse Jazz Band will join us in worship sharing with us some traditional Dixieland music.

December 24 ~ Two Christmas Eve Services, 10:30am & 5:00pm
Since Christmas Eve this year falls on a Sunday, NVM plans to hold two services that day. We will hold a Sunday morning service at our regular 10:30am time, and we will hold our traditional Christmas Eve service at 5pm.
Christmas Music Sing Along
Special musical Sunday worship filled with Christmas music (not all religious), and lectionary readings. Following the service we will all share a meal together.

Charlie Brown Christmas Family Sing Along
A free community, non-religious event brought to you in partnership by Hola Kids Spanish Immersion Preschool and Noe Valley Ministry Presbyterian Church.
Charlie Brown Christmas performed by The Jeffery Chin Jazz Trio, followed by Villancicos Sing Along (Spanish carols). Hot cocoa with yummy toppings and holiday treats will be served. Wear your holiday PJ’s or favorite holiday costumes.
We invite donations to Hola Kids “Todos Merecen Una Buena Noche” - new PJ’s (infant-6x) and gently-used children’s books for CARECENSF.ORG, supporting Latino, immigrant, and under-resourced famlies in the Bay Area.
Advent Bible Study & Reflection
There will be an Advent Bible Study and Reflection series which will be team-led by Jeanne, Virgil and Pastor Carmen starting the first week of Dec. Some offerings will be in person at the church, and some will be via zoom. Please sign up if you would like to participate. You can participate in the entire series, or individual studies as fits your calendar. Sign-up by emailing the church office at office@noevalleyministry.org with your contact information and dates of participation.

Noe Valley Ministry Book Group
This month the Noe Valley Ministry book group is reading “The Book Of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World” by the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. It is a conversation between two spiritual masters about finding joy in a world of adversity. Come join us whether you have the chance to read the book or not. The subject couldn’t be more important. Book group will meet in the library up on the 3rd floor.
Sunday Worship & Pie!
Well, it’s that time again for a tasty tradition of NVM - Pie Sunday!
Our friends from Mission Bay PC will be joining us for Sunday Worship, and after worship we will all eat pie. Everyone is invited to bring a pie to share. It can be sweet, savory, big, small…we will come together in community, eat, and enjoy each others company.
Volunteer Opportunity
Pastor Carmen and Chris Keene have engaged with Bethany United Methodist Church regarding their community service project of assembling 100 bagged lunches and distributing them every other month. Their next effort happens this Sunday, November 12, at Bethany at 12:15pm. Marcela is planning to walk over after our church service to participate and scope out the project. Anyone else who is interested in doing the same is welcome to join.
